[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Rick Harrison, star of the hit show Pawn Stars, appeared on Fox and Friends Friday morning and revealed who he is endorsing for the 2016 presidential race. Harrison has not been secretive about being a Republican and has appeared on Fox News previously to offer criticism of Obama. With the growing field of Republican candidates vying for the GOP presidential nomination, many may wonder who the savvy businessman would back. The secret is now out of the bag. Harrison announced that he is supporting Republican Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

He recently announced that he is hosting a birthday party fundraiser for Rubio. But, he made his support for the Rubio presidential campaign official and public during an interview with Fox and Friends’ Steve Doocy.
Doocy, commenting that undoubtedly Harrison has met tons of politicians, said, “It’s extraordinary that you have decided, you are not necessarily a party line guy, you’ve decided to throw your Pawn Stars weight behind one Republican contender for president. Who is it?
Without hesitation, Harrison replied, “It’s Marco Rubio.”
When asked to explain why, Harrison discussed how so many politicians say one thing in public, but when you get them one on one, “everything is always the party, the party, the party.” He says this is the case with both sides of the political aisle, both Democrats and Republicans.
Not so with Rubio, says Harrison.
He recounted how he met Rubio previously when they both happened to be in Los Angeles at the same time. Harrison talked about a conversation they had during a lunch meeting. He said, “The entire time I talked to him, he wanted to talk about people. He never mentioned the party once, which was a really big deal to me.”
Harrison told Doocy that those who have seen his show have probably picked up on the fact that he is pretty good at reading people, something he has to do often with negotiations. Through his interactions with Rubio, he believes that he honestly cares about the American people and free enterprise.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]If you have ever watched Pawn Stars, then you have been able to witness Rick Harrison’s love of history. He weaves a little history lesson in each show. In speaking about history, Harrison shared, “If you look back, the number one thing that has always brought people out of poverty, no matter where they’re at in the world, is the ease of doing business. And this guy wants to make it easier to do business. It will bring people out of poverty, it will do things for the economy. So, I’m behind him.”
Harrison is putting his words of support into action by hosting a birthday fundraiser for Marco Rubio on May 28th in Las Vegas.
Many critics, including some within the GOP, have made a comparison between Marco Rubio and Barack Obama by saying that we don’t need another first term senator as president, that we need a governor. Doocy asked Harrison what he would say about that critique.
Harrison responded, “You need a good leader. Okay? You don’t need a governor. A governor is a politician. A senator is a politician. What you need is a very strong leader, someone who is going to speak his mind and put the right people in charge of things and if they do a bad job, fire them.”
“You also need to go out there and say what you really mean,” Harrison added. He believes that Marco Rubio does just that.
Harrison is not the first big time businessman to back Rubio. Oracle’s founder Larry Ellison recently endorsed Marco Rubio and announced a high dollar fundraiser for his candidacy.
