The anti-free speech progressive leftists who have overtaken America’s institutions of learning continues to ramp up their rule by political-correctness with even more words being banned as offensive.
Yes, in the United States of AMERICA, an AMERICAN university is banning the word “American!”
As Campus Reform reports, the University of New Hampshire’s “Bias-Free Language Guide” (but being biased against America and Americans is a-okay) includes the word “American” among a laundry list of other words deemed offensive and “problematic.”
Among the other words banned by the politically-correct (for leftists), anti-free speech police at the University of New Hampshire include “homosexual,” a scientific term (Why do they deny science?), “elders,” “sexual preference,” “freshmen,” “chairman,” and many others.
Instead of using the scientific term “homosexual,” the cultural Marxism guide suggests replacing it with the term “Same Gender Loving.” Words like “mothering” or “fathering” will be censored out of existence because they may somehow be offensive to someone –“avoid gendering a non-gendered activity.”

Campus Reform reports that the guide doesn’t say whether their anti-American bias extends to other countries, such as calling people from Canada, “Canadians,” or residents of Mexico, “Mexicans.” Moreover, as one might expect, UNH also bans any word which may carry a negative connotation to anyone entering the United States illegally.
Saying “American” to reference Americans is also problematic. The guide encourages the use of the more inclusive substitutes “U.S. citizen” or “Resident of the U.S.”
The guide notes that “American” is problematic because it “assumes the U.S. is the only country inside [the continents of North and South America].” (The guide doesn’t address whether or not the terms “Canadians” and “Mexicans” should be abandoned in favor of “Residents of Canada” and “Residents of Mexico,” respectively.)
The guide clarifies that saying “illegal alien” is also problematic. While “undocumented immigrant” is acceptable, the guide recommends saying “person seeking asylum,” or “refugee,” instead. Even saying “foreigners” is problematic; the preferred term is “international people.”
But don’t worry, the university insists that the guide is “not a means to censor but rather to create dialogues of inclusion where all of us feel comfortable and welcomed.”
That is, unless you’re an American. By the way, if the word “American” can be banned, is it a stretch to think that the U.S. flag will be the next target of progressives? As the now deceased great actor Charleton Heston once said, “Political correctness is tyranny with a happy face.
