On Friday, leaked audio from a private fundraiser in February of this year revealed Hillary Clinton describing Bernie Sanders’ supporters as “living in their parents’ basement” and ideological political neophytes.
It’s an insight into how Hillary really feels about Sanders’ supporters and comes out at a time when she is trying to capture his voters for the election less 40 days away. But don’t worry about Hillary. Here comes leading member of the Democrat Media Complex, Politico, to the rescue.
Politico’s initial headline read: “Clinton Mocks Sanders Supporters in Leaked Fundraising Recording.” Damning, right? The key word there is “mocks.” Certainly, her mocking Bernie’s young little socialists wouldn’t be helpful for her in her quest to win over those voters, now would it?
Politico immediately began to receive complaints on social media from Team Hillary, demanding that they change the headline to be less damaging to Hillary. Included was this request from Rob Flaherty of Hillary’s digital communications and rapid response team:

Unbelievably, Politico quickly obliged, changing the headline to the much less harmful, “Clinton Gives Her Take on Sanders Supporters in Leaked Fundraising Recording.” See how “mocks” is replaced with “her take?” Clever, right? It goes from a real attention-getter to a vague, “nothing to see here” story.
But that wasn’t good enough for Hillary’s leftist army of online bullies.
Progressive leftist Democrat Joan Walsh, MSNBC contributor and author of “What’s the Matter with White People?” further pounded Politico into submission:

Hilariously, Politico described the adjustment this way: “The headline and lede of this story have been changed to better reflect Clinton’s tone.” Of course, what really happened is that Hillary Clinton’s campaign told them to change the headline and they willingly complied. This is not campaigning — it’s electioneering.
This is Exhibit A as to why people, in general, both mistrust and hate the media. It’s also representative of why the late, great Andrew Breitbart coined the term the “Democrat Media Complex,” a cabal of left-wing leftist activists masquerading as journalists.
One can only imagine what the outrage would be if Donald Trump or any other Republican politician for that matter, bullied FOX News into changing a headline and they complied. There is no doubt that the outrage would dominate the news cycle for an entire week.
Instead, Politico’s slimy “edit” will go largely unreported and/or severely defended as making a much-needed correction.
