It’s amazing the lengths and the lies that some people will go to in order to push a cause and drum up support. It’s even sadder and more pathetic when the person pushing a blatant lie is a professor who is responsible for the education of impressionable college students.
The lies are enough to make you wonder exactly what beyond textbook academics is being taught in that classroom.
In August 2015, a lesbian professor at Central Michigan University made the claim that she was punched in the face and given a black eye at a Toby Keith concert by a man who took attacked her for being homosexual.
Of course, she posted it on Facebook, claiming the guy also called her a “cross-dressing f*g,” and got major support from those outraged that such a thing could happen.
After her initial claim, even the higher ups at Central Michigan University joined in on the poor pitiful Poindexter support with a comment not simply on her Facebook post, but a post on the taxpayer-funded school’s own Facebook page.
“We’re proud of you, Mari, for taking a stand. CMU stands with you.”
But, there is one huge problem.
The professor made the entire thing up.
Mari Poindexter is the lying lesbian professor at the center of this enter thing, and she now has a criminal history due to her lies.
It turns out, Poindexter not only made the entire thing up, she actually gave herself a black eye in order to make her point. She was forced to come clean after sitting with investigators and being shown footage from a security camera. She reportedly became increasingly agitated after she was informed there was also surveillance camera footage from the parking lot where she claims she was attacked.
A friend called authorities a few days later and said that Poindexter was threatening suicide. She admitted by phone that she made the entire thing up.
According to the Daily Caller, Poindexter had a major ulterior motive in telling this lie.
She made the story up about being assaulted by a male subject at the bar and punched herself in the eye because she wanted to raise awareness about the social hardships of people in the LGBTQ+ community.
The university continues to stand by Poindexter releasing a statement.
“While facing mental health challenges does not absolve Mari of accountability, it helps us understand why our offering compassion rather than judgement and isolation is so important.”
Based upon her lies, Poindexter was found guilty of fabricating a story in court. She was able to plead down her initial charge of filing a false police report and lying to a police officer. Not only does she have to serve six months probation and pay a $225 fine, she also took a leave of absence from her professorship at Central Michigan.
This is more proof that the Gaystapo will make you care and pay, even if it requires the telling of colossal lies to do so.
