When a progressive hater like MSNBC’s Chris Matthews hates a Republican presidential candidate this much, it’s like getting an endorsement from God himself.
One of the very many guidelines used by principled constitutional conservatives is to determine which one makes progressive leftist Democrats’ collective heads explode the most.
And using that measurement, Ted Cruz just won the gold medal.
Summing up the New Hampshire primary results and Cruz’s surprising third-place finish, considering the tiny amount of money he spent in the liberal state, Chris Matthews dug even further into the loony bin where the leftist lunatic resides.
Ted Cruz, the only constitutional conservative left in the race, was described by Matthews as “below the level of human life,.” a remark so shockingly disgusting that he was given a do-over by Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough.
Washington Free Beacon has the details and the video below:
Matthews remarked Cruz had a “troll-like quality” that was “below the level of human life,” said there was a “darkness“ to Cruz’s character that frightened him, and suggested that Cruz, a Cuban-American, is a “theocrat” who views President Obama like Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
“The thing about—there’s a troll-like quality to Ted Cruz,” Matthews said. “He operates below the level of human life.”
“OK, Chris, that’s a little tough,” host Joe Scarborough said. “You have not gotten sleep.”
“Am I allowed to have an opinion?” Matthews asked. “I think he appeals to people’s negativity rather than their joy. I don’t think people feel good about voting for Cruz. I don’t know what it is he appeals to.”
Matthews compared Cruz to the communist-hunting Sen. Joe McCarthy, a comparison he has made dozens of times on MSNBC.
“There’s something about him that’s negative and menacing,” Matthews said. “So when I say below the level of human life, I mean the good nature of human life. Not just being a person. Although … ”
Washington Post reporter Robert Costa interjected that Cruz had shown some humanity with an anecdote about his sister’s fatal struggle with drug addiction at the last GOP debate, an anecdote dismissed out of hand by Matthews.
“Somebody just asked him about addiction, and he of course had a family experience with it. That doesn’t show anything,” Matthews said.
As usual with attacks on Ted Cruz, who memorized the entire U.S. Constitution as a teenager, a former national collegiate debate champion who has won numerous cases before the Supreme Court — on crucial issues like the Second Amendment and religious liberty — Matthews cannot attack or debate Cruz on specific issues or policy.
Like all the weak-minded, Matthews, a former Jimmy Carter administration apparatchik, has to resort to personal attacks, smears, and character assassinations.
As Rush Limbaugh is known to say, the left will always tell you who they fear the most. They really fear Ted Cruz.
