Reminder: Barack Obama Was Once Impressed By Illegal Lion-Killing

As Americans everywhere voice their outrage over the illegal killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe, too many remain hyper-focused on the admittedly tragic killing of the majestic creature while simultaneously shrugging-off the Mengele-esque wholesale butchering of babies illustrated by the Planned Parenthood videos.

While celebrities and politicians weigh-in on the most-important issue of the day, Cecil the Lion, it is inconvenient to remember that once upon a time, Barack Obama was quite impressed with those who can kill a lion.

In his 1995 memoir, “Dreams From My Father,” Obama details an encounter with a Masai guardsman who recounted how he and his friends had killed lions.

“Recently one of the cattle had been killed by a lion, and although it was illegal now, he and four others had hunted the lion into the preserve,” Obama wrote.

He then detailed the bravery of the lion-killer:

“How do you kill a lion?” I asked.

“Five men surround it and throw their spears,” Wilson said. “The lion will choose one man to pounce. That man, he curls under his shield while the other four finish the job.”

“It sounds dangerous,” I said stupidly.

Wilson shrugged. “Usually there are only scratches. But sometimes only four will come back.”

The man didn’t sound like he was boasting – more like a mechanic trying to explain a difficult repair…”

Now, as president, the same Barack Obama is helping the government of Zimbabwe in investigating the death of Cecil.

Meanwhile, the terrorists who attacked our consulate and murdered our fellow citizens in Benghazi, Libya, remain free and unknown, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s family has no closure as the Attorney General responsible for the gun-running scheme that put the gun in the hands of Terry’s murderer remains cloaked in executive privilege and the traitorous deserter, Bowe Bergdahl, remains comfy-cozy in the U.S. and has yet to answer for the deaths his desertion caused.

But hey, there may soon be justice for Cecil…
