During a rally on Tuesday, Donald Trump made the comment that not only sparked controversy, it also helped shift some of the focus away from Hillary Clinton’s campaign having the father of the Orlando terrorist who killed 49 people speaking right behind her at her rally.
Specifically, Trump said, “If she [Hillary Clinton] gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people maybe there is — I don’t know.” Trump apologists immediately claimed he was simply encouraging Second Amendment supporters to vote and the Trump campaign did their usual spin in portraying the media as “dishonest.
However, as has been pointed out by many, his words indicated nothing could be done should and after Hillary gets elected and picks judges, unless Second Amendment people do something….again, after the fact.
Regardless what he meant, words have meaning and Trump is responsible for the words that come out of his mouth. The United States Secret Service tweeted yesterday that they were aware of the comments made. Today, CNN reported that the Secret Service sat down and had more than one talk with the Trump campaign about Trump’s reckless words. (video below)

While Trump has not gone after the Secret Service on Twitter, yet, he did praise former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino, who is running for Congress in Florida’s 19th Congressional District, for defending his statements with the campaign spin and attacked CNN’s Don Lemon for daring to have the discussion.

Will Trump be able to get back on track and bring the focus back to the issues or will he commit another major faux pas and take the focus off of Hillary and the issues once again as he seems prone to do?
Hillary Clinton is making headlines today after revelations of an apparent pay to play scheme coordinated between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department when Hillary was Secretary of State. Hopefully, Trump won’t have another controversial gaffe that helps take the focus off of her.
