Ted Cruz Flays Pro-Trump Media Bias; Reveals Why They Root for the Bloviating Billionaire [VIDEO]

In the past few days, several journalists left a major online news service for being in the tank for bloviating billionaire and reality TV actor Donald Trump — but that was at “conservative” Breitbart News.

So-called mainstream media, including the RINO network FOX News, have given Donald Trump an estimated $2 billion in free media coverage, giving the real estate tycoon roughly three times the air time of all other presidential candidates — combined.

As a result, Donald Trump has not had to “self-fund” his campaign to any significant degree whatsoever, having to only spend a pittance of his billions while the networks do the heavy lifting for him.

Constitutional conservative Ted Cruz appeared on The Kelly File on Wednesday and excoriated the media for their extreme pro-Trump bias, but more importantly explained why, in his opinion, the media is giving Donald Trump so much love when media executives are a hotbed of liberalism or worse.

In Ted Cruz’s opinion, the media is pulling the same deceitful game they’ve done the last two election cycles (RINOs John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012). The leftstream media treats the GOP candidate they want to win — the candidate who is the most likely to lose to the Democrat candidate — with kid gloves giving them loads of free coverage, only to rip them to shreds in the general election for the purpose of electing a liberal Democrat president.

Cruz said that Trump will be able to dodge him from what was supposed to be another GOP debate on March 21,

“I suspect Donald will continue running and hiding and basking in the protection from the network media that is trying to do everything they can to make him the nominee because they know he’s the one candidate on the face of the planet that Hillary Clinton can beat in the general election.”

“Explain that. How has the media done that,” Megyn Kelly asked Cruz.

“The media has given him the equivalent of about $2 billion in free media. If you turn on the television at any given moment, it is a wall-to-wall infomercial.

When they were protesting his speech in Chicago, the media ran — every station — just hour after hour after hour — a telethon for Donald Trump.

I kept expecting Jerry Lewis come out and make an ask for money. And they do it constantly.”

Ted Cruz contended that this seemingly pro-Trump bias is not an accident, but a planned scheme by the media to ensure that the most unelectable GOP candidate faces off with Hillary Clinton.

A Gallup poll, released six weeks ago, revealed that Donald Trump has the highest unfavorability rating (60%) in the history of presidential polling — even worse than corrupt liar Hillary Clinton — a statistic that will not bode well in a general election.

“This is not an accident,” Cruz asserted, blaming the network executives rather than the TV hosts. “It’s the network execs, it’s the suits in the suites who are almost all liberal, partisan Democrats — they’re ready for Hillary — and they do everything they can to saturate the airwaves…Donald Trump practically goes to the bathroom and it gets carried live on network television,” Cruz joked.

“The media desperately wants him to be the nominee,” Cruz argued. “And as a result, they don’t cover anything about his record, the fact that he had a million dollar fine against him for hiring illegal aliens — you didn’t see the media cover that until we brought it up in the debates — and they never brought it up again,” Cruz said.

Cruz gave specifics and credibility to his contention, giving examples of issues that the media has swept under the rug but will be obsessed with once it’s general election season.

“You didn’t see the media reporting that his hotel down in Florida hires foreign workers instead of American workers because he can pay them less. When was the last time any of the network news have mentioned the fact that he refuses to hand over his tax returns?”

Of course, we all remember the over-obsession the media had with Mitt Romney’s tax returns in the general election of 2012 versus Obama, an issue that he got constantly pummeled over.

Thus far, Trump has refused to hand over his tax returns, giving the bogus claim that he’s not able to while under audit, which is untrue.

“The media’s doing everything they can to cover up his background. You’ve seen no reporting on multiple business interactions with members of the mob. You’ve seen no reporting of that and every bit of that, Megyn, if he’s the nominee, I guarantee you, September-October-November, every station, they’ll cover all of that aspect.”

“That’s how they give the presidency to Hillary Clinton,” Ted Cruz explained.
