Ted Cruz: ‘What’s the Difference Between Regulators and Locusts?’ [VIDEO]

The one thing about humor is that to be funny, it must be true on at least some level to make an impact.

Presidential candidate and constitutional conservative Ted Cruz, in a recent fundraiser in the belly of the beast — The People’s Republic of Seattle — told a joke that is a perfect example of this.

In a video obtained exclusively by PolitiStick from grassroots attendees at the private event at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle in August, Cruz told a joke — a Cruz missile — aimed at the Washington Cartel and the bloated, anti-freedom bureaucracy in Washington, D.C.

Cruz’s target? The Obama EPA.

“Regulators [are] descending on small businesses and strangling jobs,” Cruz began. “You know a few years back, I was visiting with some folks out in West Texas. And I asked them, I said, ‘What’s the difference between regulators and locusts?”

“Well, the thing is, you can’t use pesticides on the regulators,” Cruz told the farmer, a line that brought huge laughs in answering his own question.

Watch below to see how an “old Texas farmer” responded to Cruz. It’s pretty funny.
