ICE Officials Failed to do their Jobs, and Now Five People are Dead

For some sick and twisted reason, far too many in this country feel an obligation to illegals who cross our border more than they do the American citizens. In fact, when an American is killed by an illegal, leftist pundits often make the argument that Americans are murdered by Americans, too, as if that lessens the grief of those who lost their loved one.

When Kate Steinle was killed by an illegal in San Francisco, Barack Obama didn’t even acknowledge her death and Director of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, insultingly claimed to not know who she was.

Those obsessed with open borders either fail to recognize the dangers such an environment can lead to or frankly don’t give a damn. One would think the one agency that is supposed to handle immigration issues, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), would actually take their job seriously in protecting America’s borders. But, they don’t and, even worse, their response to five Americans dying at the hands of an illegal who had been deported and crossed the porous border once again is despicable.

Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorina is suspected of killing four people in Kansas and one in Missouri. Serrano-Vitorina should not even have been in this country. He was deported in 2004, then because of the ineptness and lack of concern for our border security, crossed back into the country illegally once again at an unknown date.

Police captured the 40-year-old illegal after a 17-hour manhunt early Wednesday morning.

The capture of Serrano-Vitorino came after a person contacted police to report that someone, who turned out to be the illegal fugitive, pulled a gun on them. The victim was able to escape and called 911 to report the incident. Serrano-Vitorina is being held on $2 million bond.
ICE issued the following statement after the capture of Serrano-Vitorino.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) previously deported Pablo Serrano-Vitorino, an illegal alien from Mexico, in April 2004, based on final orders of removal from a federal immigration judge. Mr. Serrano-Vitorino illegally re-entered the United States on an unknown date. ICE will continue to monitor this case and will place a detainer on Mr. Serrano-Vitorino if he is taken into local custody. ICE remains focused on smart, effective immigration enforcement that prioritizes threats to national security, public safety and border security.”

Their failure to actually prioritize national security, public safety and border security led to the death of five innocent people.

To make matters worse, according to the New York Daily News, an ICE spokesman said that Serrano-Vitorino was in police custody in September 2015. He was fingerprinted in Overland Park, Kansas after being stopped and arrested for driving without a license. The retainer to keep him in custody was accidentally sent to the wrong jail and Serrano-Vitorino was ultimately released.

Add five additional innocent people to the list of the blood that ICE has on their hands for failing to do their job.
