The Tea Party’s Establishment Problem

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Much like the Republican and Democrat parties, the Tea Party movement is also suffering from an “establishment” problem. Once the Tea Party movement rose to a prominent position within the American political culture, so did organized Tea Party organizations.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]Throughout the years and the election cycles, these organizations have, in many cases, become as corrupt and as big a part of the problem, as the problems they were founded to fight. This establishment has sold out their constituencies in their omnipresent pursuit of higher profits, even when they were founded as non-profit organizations, in order to enrich the organizers and stroke their egos. In many cases, they have been sold to giant data conglomerates, and baited the grassroots into giving up personal information for the sake of data collection.

Furthermore, the Tea Party movement as a whole suffers from a bad branding problem. The Tea Party’s branding problem is two-fold. First, the issues and the people who make up the movement have been misrepresented by the mainstream media and by the political establishment. Second, people within the Tea Party have taken positions and stances on issues which, while correct, are not properly communicated, therefore making the first branding problem exponentially worse.

Today, most of your Tea Party organizations have only two goals. To enrich those involved,  or to create the false narrative that they carry some kind of political power by making their egos and their personalities into stars.

As an example, one needs to look no further than all of these so-called Tea Party news websites. They will FLOOD you with spam and ads that do nothing but clog your computer’s memory all so you can make them a buck after realizing that you’ve been baited by a clever headline into reading something that has nothing to do with the betterment of our country or our movement.

They will flat out LIE and call themselves journalists, when, in reality they have no journalistic ethics of any kind. They will cheat, give up sources, and sell out to politicians, all for the sake of the all mighty click.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]I’ve been on the “inside” of many of these so called Tea Party organizations. To be perfectly honest, in my opinion, I believe that there are very few large Tea Party organizations that we can still be proud carry the Tea Party name, like the Tea Party Express and Tea Party Nation. The people out there who sincerely want to make a difference are really few and far between.

These so-called grassroots organizations will spend thousands of your donation dollars, and all those hundreds of thousands that they bring in ad revenue by baiting you, are used to hire Madison Avenue consultants, who do nothing but create a conformist corporate culture that only cares about the bottom line and the image.

So the Tea Party is very much suffering from an establishment problem that we, and the age of social media, have enabled. Don’t get me wrong, there are MANY Tea Party personalities who do not work for these conglomerates who are doing amazing work in spreading the message of the movement. But it hurts all of us when establishment Tea Party organizations won’t go after politicians simply because they hold positions in the congressional leadership, yet don’t stand for the same things that you stand for.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
