[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Have you tried to call the Obama IRS this tax season, only to have the phone call go unanswered? If so, that was not by accident. The Obama IRS is purposefully ignoring 60% of the phone calls it receives.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]John Koskinen, IRS Commissioner, made this admission while speaking at the National Press Club. The Washington Times reports that Koskinen made a plea for more money, claiming that the failure to provide adequate customer service leading to calls being ignored is a result of budgetary issues. He also claimed that staffing issues within the compliance division will cost the government $2 billion.
The plea for a bigger budget comes on the heels of bonuses totaling $2.8 million for IRS employees, including those who owed back taxes. Koskinen’s predecessor, Lois Lerner, also received a bonus of $129,300.
Funding for the Obama IRS has been stagnant for years due to members of Congress viewing the group as not only ineffective in solving problems, but also unrepentant for their abuse of power in targeting and harassing conservative and Tea Party groups.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
