“It’s easy to ask people you know cannot disclose things to do so. I mean, that makes her look transparent.” ~ Trey Gowdy
“She knows exactly what’s on those computers, just like her lawyers know what was deleted from the Platte River network.” ~ Trey Gowdy
Congressman Trey Gowdy , a member of the House Judiciary Committee, a member of the House Oversight Committee, and the former chairman of the Select Committee on Benghazi, was interviewed on FOX News by Megyn Kelly Friday evening to discuss the bombshell announcement that new emails found on the computers of former Democrat congressman Anthony Weiner and his spouse, Hillary Clinton top aide Huma Abedin’s computers — during an investigation of Weiner’s sexting scandal to underage teenage girls — led FBI Director James Comey to further investigate Hillary Clinton’s EmailGate scandal.
Congressman Gowdy began by answering one Democrat talking point circling today that Comey’s announcement was somehow unfair because it lacked precedent since we’re only 11 days before the November 8, presidential election.
“How extraordinary is this?” Kelly asked.
“Well, it’s pretty extraordinary because Secretary Clinton had an extraordinary email arrangement with herself. She is the author if her own destiny,” Gowdy declared.
“Everything that’s happened since then is the natural probable consequence of deciding you’re going to have a rogue email system,” the South Carolina congressman proclaimed.
“So I understand she’s upset — I understand she doesn’t like the timing,” Trey Gowdy continued. “But she need look no further than herself.”
Gowdy then responded to Hillary Clinton’s Friday press conference in which she weaved and dodged — avoided giving direct answers to reporters’ questions — where she demanded that FBI director James Comey release the “full and complete facts” of its investigation into the newly discovered emails. Clinton said that it was “imperative” to get the information out.
“We are 11 days out from perhaps the most important national election of our lifetimes. Voting is already underway in our country. So the American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately,” Clinton told reporters during a brief news conference in Iowa, as Politico reported.
Gowdy called out Clinton’s deception, noting that she knows that Comey isn’t able to break rules and release information in the middle of an investigation and that if she wants to release the information, she is welcome to do so because, after all, it’s her information and therefore she should know if there’s anything nefarious to be revealed.
“He cannot confirm or deny the existence of an investigation — that’s DOJ rules. And Secretary Clinton knows he cannot produce the information in the middle of an investigation. So it’s a little bit — to me Megyn — it’s a little bit…this is the same person who said I’ve neither sent or received classified information — this is the same person who said I turned over all my work-related emails — I only had one device — my lawyers went through everything.
That’s the same person that now wants all of this public disclosure — the same person who went to great lengths to make sure that these emails were private. Now all of a sudden wants it all made public. It’s just too rich.”
After that exchange, Megyn Kelly pointed out that Hillary Clinton dodged the question asked about whether she’d talked to Huma Abedin about the matter and that if placed in a similar situation, her top assistant — her right-hand woman — would be the first person she’d talk to.
“It’s easy to ask people you know cannot disclose things to do so,” Gowdy said. “I mean, that makes her look transparent. But if it’s a day that ends in y, you can rest assured she’d talked to Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills,” Gowdy opined.
“She knows exactly what’s on those computers, just like her lawyers know what was deleted from the Platte River network. And if she’s dying for us to know what she and Huma Abedin were doing on Anthony Weiner’s computer, she’s welcome to tell us!”
