Bloviating billionaire and reality TV actor Donald Trump has been declared the early winner in the Mississippi GOP primary on Tuesday evening.
FOX News, CNN and Decision Desk HQ all declared Donald Trump the winner with less than 1 percent of precincts reporting.
As of 9:11 PM ET, Trump holds a large lead over constitutional conservative Ted Cruz by a 50.7% to 34.6% margin. RINO Ohio Governor John Kasich is in a distant third place at 7.6%, while Marco Rubio is pulling up the rear at only 4.5%. All numbers are via Decision Desk HQ with 12.9% reporting.
The above are early numbers and will fluctuate before final results are announced.
According to CNN exit polls, Trump won over born-again and evangelical Christians, even though Trump is the only Christian in world history to have never found the need to ask God for forgiveness of sins. Trump received 45 percent of those votes, compared to 40 percent for Cruz and only 7 percent for Rubio.
Among “angry” voters, Trump won by even a wider margin according to CNN exit polls. Trump received 57 percent of those votes, while Cruz was far back at 33 percent and Rubio, a pro-amnesty, establishment darling, only garnered 6 percent of those angry at the federal government.
The latest Mississippi poll, conducted by Magellan Strategies on Feb. 29, had Trump beating Cruz by a margin of 41-17 percent, with Rubio close behind at 16 percent and RINO John Kasich at 8 percent. However, that poll was conducted prior to Ben Carson’s exit from the race. Carson had 5 percent in that poll.
