It’s a movement. It’s a movement. Get on the Trump Train or get rolled over! How many times have we heard that. Now that Trump has won the Republican nomination, it sounds like the GOP may need to ditch their elephant symbol. Why, you ask?
Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Putin-linked Paul Manafort, declared this morning on CBS that the Republican party is now “The Trump Party.”
“This is the Trump party now. He’s the nominee of the party. Republicans have said we trust you to lead us this fall because we think you’re the strongest candidate and you have the best vision.”
Let that sink in. In talking about Trump’s nomination, the head of his campaign said….THIS (the GOP) is now the Trump Party.
The Grand Ol’ Party is over. Done with. Gonzo.
So, those who are angry and enraged at many Republicans not supporting Trump and leaving the GOP should remember those words. According to Manafort, the GOP no longer exists.
The Trump campaign itself has announced that the GOP is no more.
Is that what Bill Clinton meant when he reportedly suggested to Donald Trump last summer, before he declared his candidacy, that he should take a greater role in the Republican Party? Did he ultimately want Trump to destroy it?
Manafort’s choice of words makes you wonder.
