TYRANNY ALERT: CA Governor Moonbeam Turns School Campuses into Killing Fields

California's Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown

Following the shootings at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon where a madman went on a rampage with his weapon of choice being a gun, the left responded like the typically do. They immediately blamed the inanimate object, the gun, rather than the shooter himself.

Now, California’s Governor, Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, is taking that insanity to an entirely new and stupid level. He has banned concealed carry weapons on all school campuses.

Governor Moonbeam signed into law SB 707 on Saturday. The new law bans the carrying of concealed guns on school and university campuses. The only exceptions allowed under this anti-Constitution, anti-freedom law is if school officials grant someone permission to carry a concealed gun or if the carrier is a retired law enforcement officer.

Leftist supporters of this anti-Constitution, anti-American law naively and dangerously claim that the law will make schools more safe.

“California’s college campuses and K-12 schools should be sanctuaries for learning, free from the fear of gun violence,” said Peggy McCrum, president of the California Chapters of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. This new law, she claims, “will make schools safer and decrease students’ risk of being injured or killed.”

Brandon Combs, president of the Firearms Policy Coalition, called out the law and the supporters of it for the danger it will create in making school grounds easy target of attack by criminals.

Combs contended, “This bill will put thousands of innocent lives at risk. Criminals will know that their intended victims are totally vulnerable when they’re on California school grounds because SB 707 will ensure that they’re defenseless against a violent attack.”

In a letter to California legislators, the National Rifle Association took a stand for the Constitution reminding the elected officials that SB 707 “raises significant concerns under the Second Amendment by further infringing the rights of law-abiding — and properly licensed and trained individuals — to possess a firearm for self-defense.”

Barack Hussein Obama led the charge following the tragedy at Umpqua Community College, calling on Americans and the media to politicize the situation, and promising that he himself would do so. He encouraged people to lean on their elected officials for more gun regulations and gun control.

The facts don’t matter to the left. It doesn’t matter that Umpqua Community College is a gun-free zone. It doesn’t matter that the state of Oregon already requires universal background checks, the very thing they are pushing for nationwide. It doesn’t matter that by its very definition, a criminal ignores laws when they commit a crime.

They will push their fear mongering, lie-based rhetoric in an effort to rile up their base and take away the gun rights of law abiding Americans.

And now, California’s governor, Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, has taken this asinine thinking to a new and more dangerous level, putting the lives of everyone on an educational campus in the Golden State at risk.
