UNHINGED: Back-to-Back Tweets That Will Make You Question Donald Trump’s Sanity and Honesty

Bombastic billionaire and reality TV star Donald Trump has led in the majority of the polls for the GOP presidential primary since he entered the race last summer. Throughout the race, Trump has not held back on his attacks on other Republicans.

He labeled former Florida Governor Jeb Bush as low energy. He made fun of Carly Fiorina’s face. Trump even compared retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson as being like a pedophile because of anger issues he had as a youth. But, it has been Trump’s constant lie-based attacks on Texas Senator Ted Cruz in order to assassinate his character that has made the news almost nightly since Trump simply won’t let it go.

Trump and Cruz almost seemed to have a gentleman’s agreement to not attack one another, but Trump said if Cruz continued to rise in the polls, then he would have to attack him, too. He is keeping that promise and looking both unhinged and hypocritical in the process.

On Thursday morning, Trump tweeted back to back tweets that will make some question both his sanity and his honesty because the hypocrisy between them is glaring.

First, he tweeted a link to a new campaign video that was posted on Facebook. The title of the video is “Unifying the Nation.”

In this video, he criticizes Obama as being a divider, not a uniter. He says that there’s so much hatred and so many problems. He then adds, “I will unify and bring our country back together. It’s something I’ve done all my life. I get along with people.” Then, of course, there is the reference to the business he built to impress upon the country that he will make America great again.

Immediately after that tweet, there is this one from the Donald.

Is this Trump’s self-aggrandizing example of how he will unify the country and bring people together? Is this supposed to offer proof of how he gets along with people? This seems more like the work of a divider-in-chief in the same vein as Barack Obama who has used similar Saul Alinsky-style tactics as Trump. Both Obama and Trump have shown mastery of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals number 5.

  • Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

But unfortunately for Trump, Cruz isn’t biting. He’s calm, cool, collected and responding with both class and humor.

Saturday on Twitter, Trump went off on a rant against Cruz which made some question whether they wanted his finger on the nuclear button. Cruz was born in Canada to an American citizen mother. But that matters not to Trump.

Although many a constitutional expert has said that Cruz is a natural born citizen, including conservative talk show host and constitutional expert Mark Levin, Trump relies on the words of Lawrence Tripe, a far-left radical activist attorney and donor to corrupt Hillary Clinton, in his birtherism attack on Cruz, has continued his strategy of making people question Cruz’s citizenship since he was born in Canada to an American mother)

In addition, though Trump himself has borrowed hundreds of millions of dollars from banks to fund his business ventures, he is hammering Cruz on the fact that he borrowed money against his own assets when he ran for Senate in Texas against a man worth $200 million. In Trump’s mind, it is okay for him to borrow money, even using currency manipulator and anti-American one world government supporter George Soros as an investor for a building in Chicago, as reported in 2004 by the Chicago Tribune, but it’s not okay for Cruz to borrow against his own assets.

Somehow, that makes Cruz ‘owned’ by banks, but not Trump, or something.

If Donald Trump is not careful, he is going to alienate many within the conservative base, if he has not already has.

Here’s Trump’s video about how he will unify the country. Perhaps he needs to watch and rewatch this to remind himself of this promise as he continues his attempted character assassination of Ted Cruz.

Unifying the NationI will unify and bring our country back together. We will be unified, we will be one, we will be happy again.
