Useful Idiot Update: You Can Thank the U.S. Department of Education for This Pitiful Statistic

Department-of-Education

If American’s don’t know their rights, how will they know when they’re taken away?

A new poll indicates that the U.S. Department of non-Education, founded in the 1970’s under the second worse presidential administration in history before the present one, Jimmy Carter’s, is furthering its unstated goal of dumbing down American citizens into useful idiots.

The new survey from the Newseum Institute shows that a shocking 33% of Americans cannot name any of the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution; they disgracefully didn’t have a clue.

While only 57% of those Americans asked what freedoms are guaranteed in the First Amendment could name “freedom of speech,” a only disturbingly low percentage, 19%, could name freedom of religion as a right guaranteed by the First Amendment. These are pitiful numbers indeed, dangerous to a society that supposedly wants to keep its freedoms.

For the record, the First Amendment, guarantees freedom of religion — including prohibiting the government from hindering the free exercise of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the rights to “peaceably” assemble (NOT to riot!) and redress grievances with government through petition:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

One silver lining in the poll shows that Americans are waking up to the lies of the old, leftstream media. Only 24% now believe that the news media tries to report the news without bias, a 17-point drop from 2014, and a 22-point drop from 2013.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]One of the more revealing numbers from the Newseum survey is that a small majority, 52%, think that businesses providing wedding services should be forced to provide services for homosexual weddings, even if doing so violates their right to freedom of religion.

Perhaps that is because they don’t know that the freedom of religion even exists in the first place!

Last year, in a national survey conducted by the University of Pennsylvania, slightly more that one-third (36%) could name all three branches of the U.S. government. Even more disappointing, 35% couldn’t name even one of the three branches.

It’s no coincidence that America’s education system, once the envy of the world prior to Carter’s creation of the Orwellian U.S. Department of Education, is now one of the worst of any of the developed world.

The “masses” are so much easier to control when they’re dumbed-down.
