Michelle Obama, who once ironically led a campaign to ban the word bossy, is up to some bossy tricks again. According to a report from the Washington Free Beacon, children who attend daycare will be forcibly weighed based upon a mandate by the First Lady’s ‘Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.’
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) published a report regarding data collection involving children. The data will involve looking into what meals are served at both professional and home daycare facilities. It will also collect data on how much physical activity the children perform each day. As part of this study, approximately children will be weighed and measured.
The USDA said the data collection is important since more than 30 million kids are in daycare.
“Good nutrition is a key to proper childhood development, but not enough is known about the food children are eating in childcare and related programs,” the agency said. “In 2011, 32.7 million children were in a regular childcare arrangement while their parents worked or pursued other activities outside of the home, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.”
The study will collect data on the “nutritional quality of foods offered, physical activity, sedentary activity, and barriers to” healthy food and exercise in childcare.
Perhaps Michelle Obama and the ever-intrusive government have decided to prey on young tykes with their controlist policies and invasive procedures since they are too young to take to social media to speak out against it as middle school and high school students have done regarding Michelle Obama’s Healthy Lunch Program, also mandated and implemented by the USDA.
