WHAT?? Bill Clinton: Firearm Ownership Prompts Violence… Just Like it Did in Kosovo and Bosnia

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Former President Bill Clinton is back in the news as he hustles to bring a modicum of charisma to his wife’s yawn-inducing presidential bid. Recently, the 42nd president sat and discussed recent turmoil in Baltimore and Ferguson and instead of citing racial divisions or low civic-mindedness as the cause of the violence, Clinton claimed that the root of the problem stemmed from too many people “walking around with guns.”[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]On Sunday’s “State of the Union,” Clinton highlighted the violence as stemming from “people walking around with guns” and also noted the community’s lack of trust.

“The Baltimore thing came on the heels of what happened in Ferguson, what happened in New York City and all these other places. And there is a big national movement about whether the lives of young African-American men count,” Clinton stated.

Then, oddly, Clinton compared it to unrest in Kosovo and Bosnia, saying,

“You can’t have people walking around with guns. I used to tell people when we did Bosnia, Kosovo anything like that, you get enough people with weapons around and there will be unintended consequences. People make mistakes. People do wrong. Things happen. To hold a community together you got to have a high level of community trust.”

What does Kosovo and Bosnia have to do with civil strife on America’s streets? Nothing.

Kosovo and Bosnia were warzones and full-fledged military engagements. The unrest in Ferguson and Baltimore is civil unrest that was allowed to spiral out of control out of fear of enraging the black community that felt that black criminals should be immune to police intervention or questioning.

Further, it should be noted that some of the staunchest opponents of allowing people to “walk around with guns” are people like Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Michael Bloomberg- people who are constantly surrounded and protected by “people who walk around with guns.”

Those who do not understand the purpose of the Second Amendment can often be heard uttering such concerns as “We can’t have people just walking around with guns.” However, as all fifty states now allow concealed carry options for law-abiding citizens, these dedicated gun control advocates often spew forth such objections to lawful concealed carry while at least partially surrounded by people “walking around with guns.”

In my home state of Oregon, a state with a “shall issue” provision for concealed carry, countless citizens carry firearms into restaurants, shopping malls, sporting events, etc. As Oregon is a hearty blend of both staunch conservatives and die-hard liberals, the granola-eaters who abhor the idea of an armed populace would likely be shocked to discover that they are, in fact, surrounded by men and women with firearms.

Clinton survived his presidency through sheer charisma and a thriving economy propped-up by the dotcom bubble.

Hillary, however, serves as the worst of what the Democrats have had to offer: Barack Obama’s policies with none of his or Bill’s charisma.
