In the U.S., we have a proud history of First Amendment protections. These protections include a right to freedom of speech, a right to worship as we choose, a right to remain free from a state-enforced religion and a freedom to assemble and petition our government.
Though every last one of these rights are under attack by the left, the right to assemble is noticeably eroding at a quicker pace as those who cannot tolerate dissent have formed “free speech zones”- places where people may assemble to exercise their Constitutional right… so long as they stay in the confined area where the government says that they may protest.
In a move akin to these nauseating and flagrantly unconstitutional areas of oppression, the Obama regime coddled despotic Chinese officials when they visited to discuss cyber spying by blacking-out the windows of the White House so that the visiting Chinese diplomats would not be able to see the protesters in front of the White House who have taken issue with Chinese human rights violations as well as their continued hacking and cybercrimes perpetrated against the United States.
President Obama hosted Chinese “president” Xi Jinping on Friday and announced that he and Xi had reached a “common understanding” regarding cyber spying. Both parties agreed to not conduct such spying on each other, however it’s likely that the assurance offered by the Communist despot (the president of China) will only last so long as his visit.
“I raised, once again, our rising concerns about growing cyber threats to American companies and American citizens. I indicated that it has to stop,” Obama told reporters. “Today I can announce that our two countries reached a common understanding on the way forward.”
The two also reached an accord on the alleged danger of “climate change.” Though the realities of this politically-charged “science” is highly debatable, the truth is that even conservatives can agree on the immediate danger of extreme levels of pollution like those seen in China.
Xi reportedly promised to institute a carbon cap-and-trade system in 2017.
According to a Tweet by Marion Smith, the Executive Director of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, the Obama Administration placed the screens to shield the communist leader from seeing the realities of free speech.
Though this is not illegal, Obama’s actions run contrary to the spirit of our First Amendment liberties and a lack of comfort with the effect free speech may have on the visiting tyrant.
Our president should be showcasing the value of democracy and freedom, not shielding it from the eyes of those who routinely deny such freedoms to over a billion people.
President Obama had a chance to pick a side. He picked the side of tyrants.
