Who Issued the ‘Stand-Down’ Order in Benghazi? These Operatives Say Americans Were Left to DIE

Americans may never fully know what happened in Benghazi, Libya, in late 2012. Though countless investigations have been mounted to ascertain how Americans could be slaughtered by Islamic terrorists within the confines of the U.S. consulate, congressional investigators have received shockingly little amount of cooperation from the Obama State Department and from Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State who now hopes for a promotion to the job of Commander-in-Chief.

The left prefers to posture as if the investigations are political witch-hunts; they often note that no “smoking gun” has been found and thus, the continued quest for the truth is a partisan attack.

However, as the investigators have been forced into a years-long legal quagmire to obtain even a modest level of begrudging cooperation, one cannot actually claim that the investigations have been anywhere near comprehensive.

Of all the lies and stories that don’t quite “link-up,” perhaps the most glaring question is: who issued the stand-down order?

American military personnel were in the region. They had the opportunity to rescue and assist. That they did not mount the much-needed rescue operation indicates that someone gave a stand-down order. But who gave it?

If we listen to Hillary Clinton, there was no stand-down order. But then again, this is the same Hillary Clinton that expected us to believe that Benghazi was a protest over a YouTube video and that she did not routinely transmit classified documents over a private email server.

If we listen to the men who were on the ground, however, there definitely was a stand-down order that emanated from the top of the military chain of command.

Repeatedly, these patriots have claimed that they were prohibited from mounting the rescue and yet, those supposedly investigating the attack and those who stand to profit politically from obscuring the truth maintain otherwise.

When three security operators who were there that night in Benghazi were asked point-blank about the stand-down order, they had no problem telling it bluntly in an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.

The Blaze reports on the back-and-forth:

“Congressional investigators concluded there was no ‘stand down’ order,” Fox News host Megyn Kelly told the three commandoes.

“That’s just silly,” replied Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Army Ranger.

The Republican-led House Armed Services Committee concluded in 2014 that there was no military “stand down” order given. That conclusion was drawn from the testimony of nine military officers.

Kelly noted that President Barack Obama and other leaders, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, rely on such reports.

“It’s kind of funny,” John “Tig” Tiegen said. “Everything we testified to they agreed with us 100 percent. … But for some reason they don’t want to believe us that we were told to stand down.”

“Do you have a political motive?” Kelly asked.

“No,” replied the three commandos.

The claim that the security operators were told to “stand down” is nothing new. Mark “Oz” Geist, Paronto and Tiegen made it in their book “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi” last year. That book, however, has found its way back in the media spotlight as Michael Bay’s film adaption is set to hit theaters this month.

It’s incredible that the left expects the American people to believe the words of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton over that of these men who were there, especially when we consider that recently-released documents indicate that a rescue mission was ready, but that the mission was prohibited from rescuing the trapped Americans.

Perhaps we could subscribe to a “he said/she said” dynamic if it were not for the fact that since the moment the consulate was attack, this administration, including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has lied and obstructed in every conceivable manner. From providing basic documents requests by investigators to crafting a flimsy narrative about a YouTube video in the moments after the attack, this administration has operated on a level of secrecy and deception that is absolutely shameful.
