[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]To say that far left loon and former Florida Congressman Alan Grayson is a vile human being would be putting it mildly. Grayson, who spent some time as a patient in a mental hospital, is on record for calling a Washington female staffer a K-street whore, for saying that Republicans want people to “die quickly”, and for accusing one of his political opponents of being a member of the Taliban because he believed people should respect their marriages.
[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]But, one of the more egregious and disgusting acts by Grayson was when he sent out an email of robed and hooded KKK members burning a cross. He uses the burning cross as the T in ‘Tea Party’ and says in the caption, “Now You Know What the ‘T’ Stands For.” After catching massive criticism from both Republicans and those within his own party, Grayson stood by his disgusting and slanderous accusation saying, “”I’m calling them out for their hate. That’s not wrong. That needs to be done. It’s the only way to end it.”
Given Grayson’s background, it begs the question why Club for Growth, a group that supposedly believes in free enterprise and limited government, the very things supported by the pro-freedom, pro-Constitution Tea Party movement, would be running ads to pump Grayson up ahead of the Florida Senate primary, a race that Grayson has not yet officially entered.
In a move that gives the impression that Club for Growth is supporting a Grayson run for U.S. Senate, they are running a commercial encouraging Florida voters to tell Congress to side with Grayson. The basis for their support is that Grayson, unlike Democrat Patrick Murphy who is running for Senate, opposes the Ex-Im Bank.
The ad, which runs for 30-seconds, will air on MSNBC and other media outlets in Florida. In it, Club for Growth says exactly why they believe Floridians should support Grayson.
“Two Florida Democrats in Congress with very different views,” the ad states. “Alan Grayson opposes the Export-Import Bank, which spends billions of tax dollars on a handful of giant corporations. Patrick Murphy supports the Ex-Im Bank and wants to funnel billions more to corporate fat cats.
“Congress will soon vote,” the ad continues. “Tell your Democratic members of Congress to side with Grayson, not Murphy, and stop the Export-Import Bank’s outrageous corporate giveaways.”
[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]In a press release, Club for Growth President David McIntosh expounded on the group’s opposition to Murphy and support and praise of the unhinged Grayson.
“Congressional Democrats, like Patrick Murphy, are in virtual lockstep in their support for the big corporate special interests that gain taxpayer-provided financing from the Export-Import Bank. Despite the hundreds of fraud claims against Ex-Im, and the 31 open fraud investigations involving the bank, Murphy still wants an expansion of Ex-Im. But, Alan Grayson has stood firm in the face of intense Democrat pressure for extending Ex-Im’s life. Even Hillary Clinton is pleading for Ex-Im’s reauthorization. That’s why The Club for Growth is urging Florida Democrats to get involved in the fight against cronyism and corruption by calling on their Democrat representatives to join Alan Grayson in opposing Ex-Im.”
Even a broken clock is right two times a day, McIntosh. But, to put the political weight and influence of Club for Growth behind the vile, bigoted Grayson, who stands in opposition to what they stand for on virtually every other issue, is simply baffling.
