Why is the D.C. District Attorney Gunning for Reps. Trey Gowdy and Ken Buck?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Republican Representatives Trey Gowdy and Ken Buck, from South Carolina and Colorado respectively, are being investigated by the Metropolitan Police in D.C. Why, you ask? Because the two men were photographed holding a very patriotic AR-15 belonging to Buck while standing in his Capitol Hill office.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]The D.C. District Attorney referred the matter to the D.C. police after a picture of the two men was tweeted last week.

[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]According to Buck, not only is the gun inoperable, he also received permission from the Capitol Police prior to bringing it into his office.

“I have a very patriotic AR-15 hanging in my office. It hangs directly above my Second Amendment flag,” Buck said.

“While safety protocols call for all guns to be treated as if they are loaded, this one isn’t. Further, a close inspection of the only public photo of the rifle will show that the bolt carrier assembly is not in the rifle; it is in fact in Colorado.”

“It is a beautiful, patriotic paper weight,” he added.

The gun is displayed in a locked case.

In December 2012, police looked the other way and chose not to file charges after NBC’s David Gregory took a 30 round magazine on the air for a segment of “Meet the Press.” Will Buck and Gowdy get a pass like Gregory or will there be push by the Left to make something big of this incident given the fact that Gowdy is the chair of the Select Committee on Benghazi?
