Will Obama Use ANOTHER Executive Order to Close Guantanamo?

The U.S. facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has been a thorn in the side of Communist dictators Fidel and Raul Castro for decades. They have repeatedly demanded the removal of the supposedly imperialist facility from the shores of Cuba, but until Barack Obama assumed the presidency, their demands fell on largely deaf ears.

However, the White House is now intimating that President Obama may be considering closing at least the prison facility at the installation and worse yet, may be considering doing so by once again side-stepping Congress to enact his will through executive order.

On Thursday, the Obama Administratiion maintained that if Congress does not bow to the president’s wishes by closing Guantanamo, the president may do it himself via executive fiat- a clear violation of the separation of powers as outlined in our Constitution.

“I’m certainly not going to take anything off the table,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said when asked about the possibility of Obama’s executive order.

Earnest claimed Obama would do “everything that he can to make progress” towards closing Guantanamo and labeled its closure a “national security priority.”

Of course, the real “national security” issue would be the relocation of dangerous terrorists to the American mainland or, just as likely, releasing the terrorists to allow them to resume their nefarious deeds against the Western world as Obama previously did when he released five high-ranking terrorists to secure the release of Bowe Bergdahl, an American deserter and traitor.

Obama is expected to put forth a plan to Congress for the closure of the facility that currently holds 112 high-ranking terrorists.

Obama’s plan to Congress is unlikely to pass even with weak Republican leaders in both houses of Congress.

In 2009, Obama attempted to shutter the camp via executive order, but the tyrannical move was thwarted when Congress made relocating the terrorists to the American mainland unlawful. How Obama will attempt to get around this previous point is unknown, but the 44th president has had few qualms in recent years simply making the law up as he goes along.
