Having a business security system can help you feel at ease knowing your items are safe and you have a watchful eye on employees.

Security systems can tell you if employees are spending more time surfing the web or on their phones than working. By actively monitoring employee activity, you can help ensure your payroll dollars are well spent.

For public places, business security systems allow you to have evidence should a crime happen. For instance, if you’re a restaurant and a fight break out over game day, you can use your security footage to help the cops.

As you can tell, there are many benefits to having a business security system if you’re an entrepreneur. The most common reason, however, is to watch for theft.

Are your employees stealing from you?

Businesses who have internal stealing can yield high costs to cover the stolen goods. This becomes troublesome for new businesses and small businesses who don’t have the budget to back items that go missing.

If you feel like your employees may be stealing from you, watch for these signs before you make any accusations:

• Are there discrepancies in your cash register or when outside vendor purchases are made?
• Is there regularly missing inventory or workplace supplies?
• Are employees parking close to the entrance or exits that are away from the camera view?
• Have you noticed employees lurking around after they are off the clock?
• Are doors being left unlocked at odd hours?
• Are employees purposefully trying to stay away from areas where cameras could see them?

If you notice any of the above, you should start to keep a watchful eye on your employees. If you don’t have the employee bandwidth to do so, invest in more business security systems that can do it for you. Many security systems allow you to watch over your property via remote access.
