In recent decades, the film and photography scene has witnessed tremendous growth. The industry has enormously undergone a revamp in terms of the technology and skills of creating different images and visual products. One can undoubtedly say that this industry is going nowhere anytime soon. Those with folks from back then dating 20th century or early 21st century most probably have the story of how things have turned out ever since the first image got captured. With the information on the internet and national archives, it is evident that a lot has taken place to ensure filming and photography takes a different turn. From Kodak films of the 1800s to custom reel and viewer products and now digital cameras, things have become much more comfortable.

While the history of photography goes a long way into the past, it is fascinating how every step is linked to the other over two centuries ago. Since the first camera development, the inventors have only had to modify the original gadgets to come up with more up-to-the-minute items that would make things a little bit easier and better. The History of Cameras

Though the first photographic content was released about 200 years ago, the concept of photography originated from the 5th century BC. Later in the 11th century, an infamous scientist from Iraq came up with something that was referred to as an Obscura. This is where the real deal came to light. It took time for the camera obscura to record an image as it only portrayed them on other surfaces. The first major transformation happened in the 17th century, where the giant camera obscura was made small and portable. This is the time when basic camera lenses were introduced.

First Pictures

It is incredible how the same camera obscura that only revealed images on surfaces in the dark got involved in recording the first photo. A French photographer named Joseph Niépce in the late 1830s uses the Obscura to capture an image which did not fade. This occurrence prompted several types of research and experiments. It is from one of the collaborative experiments that Joseph Niépce and Louis Daguerre came up with Daguerreotype. This device became the crest of today in the film and photographic industry.

No Staged Portraits Anymore

Until 1930, photographers led by Henri-Cartier Bresson, that small cameras sized 35mm got put into use. Unlike in the past where images appeared as staged portraits, these cameras shot real-life photos. In 1939, World War II had just begun, and photojournalists found it useful to capture the event using these cameras. It was a blessing in disguise to the military and the photographic scene since this was when the first custom reel and image viewer came to light.
